InitLive Donates Volunteer Management System To Aid In COVID-19 Relief

Ottawa, Ontario, April 2, 2020 - InitLive, a software company specializing in volunteer management solutions, has announced it is donating its software to organizations who need to mobilize people to aid in the COVID-19 relief efforts. 

The COVID-19 pandemic has made an unprecedented impact globally and now requires a coordinated effort to provide help to those individuals who are most vulnerable. The InitLive software platform is trusted by non-profit organizations worldwide to streamline operations throughout the recruitment, scheduling, and deployment phases of their programs. 

United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County is using this donation to scale operations to respond to demand for volunteers.  “We’re excited to work with InitLive to recruit and deploy volunteers in our community’s WE COVID Care Coalition, as we mobilize to feed vulnerable people and help those who are at risk during the COVID-19 pandemic,” commented Andrew Bothamley, VP, Finance & Operations.

(01/09/2018) InitLive, maker of innovative Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) for the scheduling and management of staff and volunteers at public and corporate events of all types, announced today the appointment of Chris Courneya to the post of company CEO and member of the company Board of Directors. 

Chris is the past CEO of Ottawa-based prairieFyre Software, which specialized in communications software for contact center, call accounting and customer relationship management applications. Mr. Courneya and team built the company into a multi-million dollar firm that was subsequently acquired by industry leader Mitel. Following the exit, Chris was active in the Ottawa technology community as a mentor and angel investor. The opportunity to apply his experience and help lead InitLive through a similarly robust period of growth and expansion was one he could not resist.

“It did not take long to be impressed with the InitLive product and team,” said Mr. Courneya. “They have created a valuable software platform and a loyal customer community, and the opportunities to continue adding value for current and future customers are very significant. Each year ETL announces the names of companies that have made the most contributions to event technology. 

ETL is the first show in Europe to be dedicated entirely to showcasing contributions in event technology. And this year, the prestigious European event technology exhibition -- the only one of its kind in Europe -- listed InitLive among those organizations which presented innovative contributions to the event management industry for the present year.


InitLive was the first of three solutions recognized under the category for Best Workforce Management Technology. (01/09/2018) InitLive, maker of innovative Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) for the scheduling and management of staff and volunteers at public and corporate events of all types, announced today the appointment of Chris Courneya to the post of company CEO and member of the company Board of Directors. 

Chris is the past CEO of Ottawa-based prairieFyre Software, which specialized in communications software for contact center, call accounting and customer relationship management applications. Mr. Courneya and team built the company into a multi-million dollar firm that was subsequently acquired by industry leader Mitel. Following the exit, Chris was active in the Ottawa technology community as a mentor and angel investor. The opportunity to apply his experience and help lead InitLive through a similarly robust period of growth and expansion was one he could not resist.

“It did not take long to be impressed with the InitLive product and team,” said Mr. Courneya. “They have created a valuable software platform and a loyal customer community, and the opportunities to continue adding value for current and future customers are very significant.
